The Lakes and Thermal Baths
Along the Saint Vicinius Way and Cycling Route, visitors can discover several lakes and bodies of water before reaching the renowned spa town of Bagno di Romagna.
Lago Lungo and Pontini Lake
Lago Lungo, at 616 metres above sea level, and Pontini Lake, at 748 metres with a surface area of approximately 2.5 hectares, lie on the slopes of Mount Comero, surrounded by centuries-old chestnut trees.
Lago Lungo, in particular, provides the setting for the Native American Village, a settlement rich in traditional details and teepees. The stories told by its founder, Meco, who lives there and looks after the village, offer visitors a deeper insight into its unique atmosphere.
Acquapartita Lake
Acquapartita Lake, located at an altitude of 752 metres, covers more than 4 hectares and is home to abundant wildlife, surrounded by extensive green spaces.
At the centre of the lake lies a picturesque small island, connected to the shore by a wooden footbridge. Chestnut trees and the surrounding natural landscape create an ideal setting for relaxation, meditation and outdoor activities.
Chiardovo Spring and the Thermal Baths of Bagno di Romagna
Just before reaching Bagno di Romagna, the Chiardovo Sulphur Spring is well worth a stop, known for the distinctive properties of its waters.
Once in the ancient town of Balneum, which shares its Umbrian origins and subsequent Roman history with nearby Sarsina, visitors can discover the historic thermal spring housed within the Sant’Agnese Thermal Spa.
